Construction Diptych
A documentary series from an active construction site, balancing the industrial scale of steel and concrete with the human presence that gives the work its pulse.
Brief
Construction sites are temporary landscapes - half material, half human. The brief was to capture the texture of a site in progress: the geometry of scaffolding, the weight of machinery, the fluorescent flicker of safety vests against grey skies, and the quiet moments between tasks where scale becomes personal.
Approach
Shot across different times of day to catch shifting light on raw materials. The edit moves between wide structural frames and tight human details, using portrait orientation for vertical structures and people, landscape for the sweep of the site. Colour stays muted and industrial - steel greys, safety yellow, concrete beige - with warmth only in the human frames.
